Kudos to members of our King's Ely Prep Eco Committee for completing their first community litter pick!

The small but mighty team of pupils, some of their parents, and Sixth Form volunteer, Dylan, gave up one of their Saturday mornings before the end of term by donning their hi-vis, grabbing their litter pickers, and exploring Ely to see what discarded rubbish they could find.

Mrs Helen Melville, Teacher of Geography at King's Ely Prep, helps to run the Eco Committee. She said: "Our dedicated team de-littered their way from the Prep School to the Paradise Playing Field through Barton Square, Cherry Hill, the East Lawn and across the High Street. We were pleasantly surprised by the small amount of litter that there was to pick up, until we got to the Paradise Playing Field, where there were lots more cans and plastic bottles. 

"We came away with about one big bag full of litter and recycled what we could from it. We hope to make this a more regular event and already have some plans to improve our systems."
