A Level Fine Art

All the specialist studios are well-equipped for the development of ambitious outcomes.

 

Candidates are introduced to a variety of experiences, processes and techniques.

Knowledge of Art, Craft and Design will be developed through research, working from first-hand experience and secondary, resource material. Practical and analytical skills will also be developed.

Candidates are required to participate actively in the course of study, recognising and developing their own strengths in the subject and identifying and sustaining their own lines of enquiry.

This course gives the appropriate foundation for further study of Art and Design or related subjects in higher education.

Prerequisite 

Minimum grade 6 in GCSE Art and Design.
Topic Overview

 

Fine Art will cover the practical and contextual/critical work associated with drawing, painting, sculpture, installation, printmaking, moving image and photography.
Assessment

 

Unit 1: Coursework (Personal investigation 1000 - 3000 words) - 60% of marks. 

Unit 2: Externally set assignment - 60% 0f marks.
