Deemed in recent inspection reports to be ‘outstanding’, pastoral care at King’s Ely underpins all we do.
"The pastoral care makes it a very special place in our opinion. Our children always safe and happy, and she looks forward to each day."
Mr and Mrs Livingstone
We provide supportive pastoral care and an education that enables young people to discover and build on their strengths, using their talents to help define their identity.
Students learn how to take risks in their learning, accommodating success and failure in a climate of support. Being challenged to step out of one’s comfort zone quickly becomes a way of life.
Students are encouraged to nurture the habit of independent learning and take ownership of their own educational journeys, developing a sense of who they are alongside the courage to be what they are meant to be.
The tutorial system provides structure and continuity for each student, with (wherever possible) a Form Tutor assigned to a student for the three years they are in King’s Ely Senior. This relationship and in-depth knowledge is invaluable for the effective support of each student in academic work, revision and subject selection at GCSE and A Level and is built up through regular group meetings and individual tutorials.

The wider pastoral network at the school includes a full programme to promote pupil welfare including access to School Counsellors and Welfare Assistants. Our House System, Form Tutors, dedicated SEN practitioners and the 24-hour Medical Centre provide further levels of insight and care. |
