Design and Technology

Design and Technology is taught in every year across all key stages in King’s Ely Prep.

 

Lessons include, Design and Technology, Textiles and Food and Nutrition.

We are firm believers in reusing and repurposing materials and show the pupils the importance of creating with the environment and sustainability in mind. 

We work with a range of materials and processes which allows us to show the pupils the properties and working characteristics of each of them. Our digital CAD/CAM facilities work hand in hand with more traditional techniques with our pupils learning the importance of both.

Our Food and Nutrition program is designed to engage young minds in the exciting world of healthy eating and cooking. Our goal is to provide students with a strong foundation in nutrition, culinary skills, and the importance of making healthy food choices. 

Extra curriculuar activities form a large part of our wider provision. Clubs and Activities are an excellent opportunity for pupils to experiment with their creativity in addition to lessons.
