Sixth Form Choral Scholarships

The Sixth Form Scholarship scheme has been running since 2014.

Former members of the scheme have gone on to major university choral scholarships and solo vocal study at UK conservatoires.

Application deadline is 25th October 2024 

Choral Scholarships provide an opportunity for young singers to work in a high-calibre and supportive context, singing alongside professional lay clerks who provide outstanding vocal and musical leadership to developing members of the choir’s back row.

Awards are open to girls and boys in all voice parts, though sopranos and mezzos will usually be asked to sing alto when singing in the cathedral choir.

Chorister Staff  

The Director of the Girl Choristers is Sarah MacDonald. The Cathedral Director of Music is Edmund Aldhouse. He has responsibility for all music in the Cathedral, and is also directly responsible for training the boy choristers.

The Assistant Director of Music is Jeremy Lloyd.
