Rory will be studying Architecture at Newcastle University after achieving the A-Level grades he needed.
Rory joined King's Ely Senior in Year 9 from St Faith's School in Cambridge.
He studied Economics, Geography, and Product Design at A-Level. Rory, who aspires to be an Architect, also completed an Extended Project Qualification (EPQ), titled 'How do countries adapt architecture to the seismic activity in the Pacific Ring of Fire?'
To describe King's in three words, Rory chose "friendly, calm, supportive".
Rory was very involved in Sport here at King's. He was our Senior Boys' Tennis Captain, Captain of the 2nd Boys' Football Team, and he played Rugby for the 1st Team. Rory has already joined pre-season Hockey training in Newcastle, and has started in goal for the University's 1st Team.
Rory also completed his Bronze, Silver, and Gold Duke of Edinburgh's Awards during his time at King's.
Describing the school's teaching and learning environment, Rory said: "I really liked the quality of teaching and how enthusiastic the teachers were for every lesson. The teaching was highly personable, and the small class sizes created a space for in-depth discussions where everyone was involved."
When asked what he will miss most about King's, Rory said: "The food, and seeing my friends and teachers everyday. King's is a school with a strong sense of community which really gets the most out of you. Its nature is calm and friendly, its campus is beautiful, and having the Cathedral so involved in the school is really special."
Congratulations Rory - enjoy Newcastle and keep in touch!
