King's Ely student, Lotte, selected for Bury St Edmunds (East) Talent Academy

May 2026

Congratulations to King's Ely Senior student, Lotte, on her latest sporting achievement!

Following a rigorous trial process, Lotte, who is in Year 11, has been selected to join the Bury St Edmunds (East) Talent Academy.

At King's, Lotte plays for our 1st Girls' Hockey Team, and she is a Sports Scholar.

The Academy is operated by Bury St Edmunds Hockey Club. As well as weekly coaching sessions, players also access some weekend day camps, which include player education workshops to support their holistic athlete development. In addition, the Academy takes part in the Talent Academy South East Regional Competition.

The main purpose of the Academy is to provide an exceptional player development environment for the highest potential young players from School Years 10 to 13. It aims to support players to take steps into performance environments in the future, such as the Elite Domestic Game, University Hockey, the GB/England Elite Development Programme, and the England Age Group Programme.

Miss Chanre Bond, Head of Hockey at King's Ely Senior, said: "Congratulations to Lotte on this well-deserved success. We are excited to see her continue to develop and excel."
