King's Ely Prep's fabulous production of 'Goodnight Mister Tom'

February 12th, 2025

Congratulations to every single student and member of staff who made King's Ely Prep's production of 'Goodnight Mister Tom' a resounding success!

More than four hundred people supported our talented cast of Years 7 and 8 pupils by booking tickets to see their adaptation of the heart warming tale in the Hayward Theatre on February 6th and 7th.

Twenty one students made up the cast and twelve children took on a technical or backstage role in the production. The show was directed by Miss Emily Chadwick, with assistance from Miss Sophie Kohl.

Miss Chadwick, who is Head of Drama at King's Ely Prep, said: "'Incredible', 'fantastic', and 'moving' are just some of the words that have been used to describe the performance. I am exceptionally proud of all the cast, who handled the material with such maturity and communicated the story so sensitively. There were many a tear shed by the audience over the two evenings! The backstage and technical crew also did a sterling job with a deceivingly simple set, sound, and lighting that took a huge amount of timing and technical skill to get right. Well done to everyone involved - each and every individual helped to make the show the success it was."
